Suspension of In-person Worship

Hello, Everyone,

The Congregation Council at the November meeting decided that if the State of Illinois restricted attendance at functions to 10 or fewer that we would suspend in person worship at Plattville Lutheran.

Unfortunately, that restriction has occurred so we will be suspending in person worship until such limitations are lifted. Therefore, we will not be “hanging the greens” this Sunday, nor will there be a Thanksgiving Eve service on Wednesday, November 25. This is not an easy choice to make. The decision is based on being considerate of the well-being of the members of the congregation, many of whom would, by virtue of age or other conditions, be dangerously affected by the corona virus. Thank you for your understanding.

We also thank you for the way in which we successfully returned to in person worship To our knowledge, no one has contracted the virus as a result of worshiping at Plattville Lutheran Church. Everyone did well to wear masks and refrain from close contact in the building. When we are able to resume in person worship, we expect that these same mitigating actions will be in place for a while. In the meantime Sunday services will be published to YouTube, Facebook, and the congregation web site. Please join in this worship opportunity and share them with others. Midweek messages will also continue on Wednesdays.

Finally, thank you for your support of your congregation during these challenging times. Your prayers have been greatly appreciated as well as your generous giving. As we approach the end of the year we ask for your continued support of the ongoing ministry of your congregation.

God bless you all with health and safety in this continuing pandemic.

Pastor Bret
