Plattville Lutheran Cemetery Needs

Dear Friends of Plattville Lutheran Cemetery,

For more than one hundred years the Plattville Lutheran Cemetery has been a beautiful and reverent final resting place for many people. Many of these people are members of your family or dear friends. The cemetery is also a contemplative place for those still living to remember their loved ones amid the beauty of nature.

The Plattville Lutheran Cemetery Association and Plattville Lutheran Church have worked to maintain and enhance the beauty of the cemetery through regular lawn care and tree trimming and the addition of the brick and iron fence and sign at the entrance. The costs of maintaining the cemetery have risen over the years and the Cemetery Association has raised the price of grave lots and interment fees to help meet those rising expenses. However, that is a rather limited source of funding.

Over the decades several of the headstones and grave markers have shifted and fallen. This situation makes maintenance more difficult and diminishes the beauty of the cemetery. The beloved monuments to those who have passed need to be restored to their original positions and placements. The Association and the congregation have begun to have the necessary work done, but the cost is more than available resources.

We are asking that you consider making a gift to the Plattville Lutheran Cemetery to offset the cost of rehabilitating the fallen and tilted grave stones. Those who have family and friends in the cemetery appreciate the beauty of this sacred space. What helps to enhance that beauty is of benefit to us all.
